How to Care
Taking care of leather shoes is not just about making your shoes look good. It is also about preserving and adding to the life of your new lovely shoes. Look at it as though you are protecting an investment, or what could be a future collectible. Leather shoes require the most care, if you protect them well, it will expand their lifetime significantly.
Follow these steps for cleaning and maintaining your leather shoes.
Cleaning
- Brush off dirt and debris.
- Spray Humdinger Vogue Leather Cleaner, and brush with horse-hair brush to remove oil, dirt, grime, and stains.
- If your laces require cleaning, remove them from your shoes and hand wash them in a small container using laundry detergent and warm water. Laces should be completely dry before lacing up the shoes again.
Protecting
- Spray the Humdinger Vogue Leather Protector, which builds an invisible protector that repels stains, color, and softness.
- Buff using the lint-free polish towel.
- Allow to air dry.
Conditioning Polish Cream
- Using the foam applicator, apply Humdinger Vogue Leather Polish Cream
- Apply thoroughly to deeply nourish and restore leather to avoid drying and cracking.
- For extra shine, repeat.
- Allow to air dry.
Freshener
- Spray Humdinger Vogue Leather Freshener and Conditioner a few inches away from the leather product.
- Our Freshener destroys and decomposes odors, and restores fresh leather scent.
- Allow to air dry.
If you have painted or dyed your leather shoes, protect them with a Finisher, and clean them with a damp cloth. Do not use acetone or alcohol-based cleaners when cleaning painted or dyed shoes, as this will remove the finish.
Never use heat to dry leather shoes. Always air dry at room temperature. If shoes are very damp, then stuffing with newspaper will aid in the drying process of them and help them keep their shape.
